Stainless Steel Roofing Fasteners
The tropical Hawaiian climate is relentless on inferior building materials such as galvanized or electroplated fasteners. Any roofing system is only as strong as its weakest link. In many cases of failing roofs the weakest link is inferior fasteners that rust out and create water infiltration openings.
MRC Roofing only uses high quality stainless steel fasteners that don’t rust out. The increased cost associated with using stainless steel fasteners over galvanized or electroplated fasteners is negligible and it’s definitely worth the minor added expense when you realize a longer life span of your roof than your neighbors’ roofs. When your neighbors are re-roofing 10 years before you are, you will appreciate the fact that you chose stainless steel over inferiority.
MRC is also famous for installing 6 nails per asphalt shingle instead of the bare minimum of four nails required by International Building Code. Six nails per asphalt shingle increases the manufacturers wind warranty from 110 miles per hour to 130 miles per hour. Because Hawaii is in a hurricane zone, the added protection of having six ring shanked stainless steel nails per shingle should help all our customers sleep well at night.
